We are getting married!

Saturday 17th January 2026 in Nonthaburi, Thailand

How we met

We first met while attending the Alabama Partners in Amphibians and Reptile Conservation (ALAPARC) meeting at the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center in the Conecuh National Forest, Alabama, USA. Putter was presenting his research on urban-dwelling lizards in Florida -- the same lizards Hannah grew up seeing and chasing. At the end of the conference, we went separate ways - Hannah back to the University of Georgia and Putter back to Auburn University. We exchanged contacts and said we'll keep in touch. We've been in touch since!

Traveling to Thailand

Entry requirements - Please check the visa requirements for your country before traveling. You can do that via the official Thai government website: thaievisa.go.th. Passport holders from North America, Europe, Australia, and other ASEAN nations can travel in Thailand for up to 30-60 days without the need to apply for a visa. But double check!

Flights - if you're flying in from abroad, the most convenient airports are Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), both located in Bangkok. DMK is actually closer to the venue, but BKK is a larger airport with more international flights.

Getting around - We highly recommend using Grab, a very popular ride hailing app in Thailand. You can download the app even before arriving in Thailand. You are also able to use credit card for payment. If you choose to use a Taxi, please ensure they are using the meter.

Money - Thailand uses the Thai Baht (THB) as its currency. Larger establishments like shopping malls, sit down restaurants, and hotels accept credit cards, but it's a good idea to have cash for market and street food as well as if you're traveling outside larger cities. ATMs are widely available everywhere in the country. You can also exchange your currency at the airport, banks, or exchange booths in the city.
Places that accept cash will also accept digital payments (QR codes) -- TAGTHAi app is developed for non-Thais to use this functionality.

Climate - Thailand has a tropical climate. In January, the country enjoys pleasant weather but it can still be hot. Expect temperature ranging between 23°C - 33°C (73°F - 91°F), and high humidity (~75 - 80%).

Pre- and Post- wedding travels - While you're in Thailand, why not take the opportunity to explore some top destinations? The Tourism Authority of Thailand is a great place to start!

SIM and eSIM - We recommend you pick up a tourist SIM cards readily at the airport or 7-Elevens (they are pretty cheap with generous data packages). Alternatively, you can use an eSIMs if you have a compatible mobile device. Note that eSIMs are generally data-only and do not support voice calls (you can use apps like WhatsApp or Skype for calls). Some eSIMs must be purchased/downloaded prior to arrival in the country.

Wedding registry

Link to registry

We feel so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family. Your support means the world to us - whether you're joining us in Thailand or celebrating from afar - and we truly don’t expect gifts. However, for those who’ve asked or would like to contribute, we’ve set up a honeymoon fund to Borneo in place of a traditional registry. We got a taste of the wilds and wildlife of Borneo last year while attending a research conference, and we've been hoping to return ever since we left! You can help us make the most of our first adventure as a married couple—whether it’s on flights, a place to stay, or a fun experience along the way.
Anything you give is genuinely appreciated, but never expected.
